Upon my return from the US I was offered the opportunity to join the senior development team at Responsys, building the new website for Sydney Airport.
My most significant team project to date, the .NET/Sitecore-based site involved six months of development, more than eight developers, and thousands of lines of HTML, CSS and Javascript.
With front-end development already two months underway upon my joining, I quickly moved to standardise the structure of the site, proposing and then implementing a 960.gs grid-based layout. This partnered perfectly with the Sitecore CMS' modular, placeholder-based page editing system, and reduced significantly the amount of excess CSS that was dominating layout and element positioning across the site.
