My first e-commerce project based on the Magento platform, brought with it a steep learning curve to familiarise myself with the underlying Zend PHP Framework it is based on. The nature of SnapAV's wholesale business model required significant customisations to the Magento system, which typically operates on a retail model. A number of custom modules transform the underlying business logic, making the wholesale transactions seamless for both administrators and customers alike. Overall SnapAV was a challenging and rewarding project, yielding significant results for the client within just days of going live. While still a great fan of Shopify, I'm convinced Magento is a smart solution for any business seeking to create a more advanced e-commerce presence, and look forward to undertaking further Magento projects in the future.
